Chapter Tables at 4 Contra Costa County High Schools
Throughout February, Contra Costa County ACS SEL members fanned out across four local high schools — Dougherty Valley, Monte Vista, San Ramon Valley, and De La Salle/Carondelet — to raise awareness about cancer advocacy and recruit the next wave of members.
At each school, chapter members set up information tables during lunch periods, sharing materials about ACS CAN, explaining what the SEL does, and talking with students one-on-one about why cancer policy matters to young people. By the end of the two-week campaign, the chapter had collected over 40 new member interest forms.
The tabling push was part of a broader effort to deepen our presence in high schools across the county. Many of the students who stopped by had a personal connection to cancer — a grandparent, a parent, a friend — and several expressed genuine interest in turning that experience into advocacy.
Onboarding for new members from this cohort is already underway. If you expressed interest at one of our tables and haven't heard from us yet, fill out the form below.
